HomeMy WebLinkAbout12639 ORD - 06/11/1975jkh:6- 10 -75; 1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET; APPROPRIATING $1,045.83 OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND TO SUPPLEMENT SUMS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED FOR THE CITY'S SHARE OF COST FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF INTERSECTION IMPROVE- MENTS ON SOUTH STAPLES STREET AND SWANTNER STREET EXTENDING FROM 18TH STREET TO ANNAPOLIS DRIVE,AND ON AIRPORT ROAD (P.M. 665) FROM 650 FEET WEST OF MORGAN STREET TO 500 FEET NORTH OF MORGAN STREET, ALL AS IS PROVIDED UNDER THE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 10876, DATED MAY 24, 1972, SAID APPROPRIATION,APPLICASLE TO PROJECT NO. 220- 67 -94, TO BE PLACED IN ESCROW WITH THE STATE TREASURER, ACCOUNT OF TRUST FUND NO. 927; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $1,045.83 out of the No_ 220 Street Bond Fund to supplement sums previously appropri- ated for the City's share of cost for the construction of intersection improve- ments on South Staples Street and Swantner Street, extending from 18th Street to Annapolis Drive, and on Airport Road (F.M. 665) from 650 feet west of Morgan Street to,500 feet north of Morgan Street, as is provided under the Agreement with the State Highway Commission authorized by Ordinance No. 10876, dated May 24, 1972, said appropriation, applicable to Project No. 220- 67 -94, to be placed in escrow with the State Treasurer, Account of Trust Fund No. 927. SECTION 2. Amendment of the City Budget to accomplish the purpose of this ordinance is necessitated for emergency expenditure in grave public necessity to meet unusual and unforeseen conditions, which could not, by reasonable diligent thought and attention of the Government of the City of Corpus Christi have been included in the current, original Budget of the City. SECTION 3. The necessity to appropriate the sums hereinabove set out at the earliest practicable date in order that the sums may be placed in escrow with the State Treasurer, reflecting the City's share of cost of construction of the aforesaid intersection improvements, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the sus- pension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed 12639 finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordi- nance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the__Z�day of June, 1975.
