HomeMy WebLinkAbout12687 ORD - 07/09/1975i M:vp:7 /8/75:lst TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT AND ALL RELATED DOCUMENTS WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND TEXAS MEXICAN RAILWAY COMPANY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF RAILROAD SAFETY SIGNALIZATION AT THE INTER- SECTION OF McBRIDE LANE AND HIGHWAY 44; APPROPRIATING $1,300 OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND FOR THE CITY'S ESTIMATED SHARE OF COST, THE REMAINDER TO BE PAID BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THROUGH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND THE TEXAS MEXICAN RAILWAY COMPANY, AS PROVIDED BY THE HIGHWAY SAFETY ACT OF 1973, ALL APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -72 -13.2; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute an agreement and all related documents with the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation and Texas Mexican Railway Company for the construction and installation of railroad safety signalization at the intersection of McBride Lane and Highway 44. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated $1,300 out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund for the City's estimated share of cost, the remainder to be paid by the Federal Government through the State Department of Highways and Transportation and the Texas Mexican Railway Company, as provided by the Highway Safety Act of 1973, all applicable to Project No. 220 -72 -13.2. SECTION 3. Amendment of the City Budget to accomplish the pur- poses of this ordinance is necessitated for emergency expenditure in grave public necessity to meet unusual and unforeseen conditions, which could not, by reasonable diligent thought and attention of the Government of the City of Corpus Christi, have been included in the current, original Budget of the City. SECTION 4.
