A RESOLUTION

AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 12444, PASSED AND APPROVED
JANUARY 22, 1975, WHICH PERTAINS TO THE PRIORITY
SCHEDULE OF STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS TO BE
CONSTRUCTED JOINTLY BY THE CITY AND THE STATE
DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
UNDER THE URBAN SYSTEMS PROGRAM, SAID PRIORITY OF
PROJECTS FOR THE FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD YEAR
URBAN SYSTEMS PROGRAM TO BE REVISED AS HEREINAFTER
SET FORTH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 12444, passed and approved by
the City Council on January 22, 1975, the City Council determined that
certain listed projects were to be constructed jointly between the City
and the State Highway Department in the first, second and third year Urban
Systems Program, said projects to be funded with local funds and funds
provided by the Federal Highway Act of 1973; and
I WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to revise the
priority of projects:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. It is hereby resolved by the City Council of the
City of Corpus Christi that the following priorities of projects are
established for the first, second and third year Urban Systems Program,
said projects to be constructed jointly by the City and the State Highway
Department and funded with local funds as well as funds provided by the
Federal Highway Act of 1973:
FIRST YEAR Waldron Road, from Purdue to Caribbean
North Staples Street, from I.H. 37 to
West' Broadway
Leopard Street Overlay, from North Broadway
to Palm Drive
Starlite Lane, from Leopard Street (S.H. 9)
to Sunny Drive.
SECOND YEAR McArdle Road, from Vance to Mount Vernon Park
and Airline Road from Padre Island Drive
t to Williams Drive
Port Avenue, from Agnes to S.H. 286
Airline Road, from Williams Drive to Holly Road
THIRD YEAR Coopers Alley, from Tancahua to Mesquite
Nueces Bay Boulevard, from I. H. 37 to West Broadway
McKenzie Road, from Leopard Street (S.H.9)
to I.H. 37
Kostoryz Road, from Padre Island Drive to Holly Road
Port Avenue, from S.H. 286 to Ayers.

SECTION 2. The necessity to revise the priorities for the first,
second and third year's construction on bond projects under the Urban Systems
Program between the City of Corpus Christi and the Texas Highway Department
as hereinabove set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and
necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule
and that this resolution be passed finally on'the'date of its *introduction
and take effect and be in full force and
11feffect from and after its passage,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED, this the O� /ay of

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING
ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
