AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCELS 1 AND 2,
CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH RESTORATION PROJECT; APPRO-
PRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING $36,536 OUT OF THE
124 GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND, ACTIVITY 5604,
AND $2,464 OUT OF THE 123 GENERAL REVENUE SHARING
FUND, ACTIVITY 5604, FOR A TOTAL APPROPRIATION OF
$39,000, OF WHICH AMOUNT $38,000 IS FOR LAND
ACQUISITION AT THE APPROVED VALUES AND $1,000 IS
FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES RELATED TO CLOSING AND
OTHER CONTINGENCIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute documsats necessary for the acquisition of Parcels 1 and 2,
Corpus Christi Beach Restoration Project, said parcels being more fully
described hereinafter, Parcel 1 being acquired from James Pothitakis and
wife, Ethel M. Pothitakis, and Parcel 2 being acquired from Bertha Liedeker:
Parcel 1
Lot 6, Block "H ", Brooklyn Addition to the City of
Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown by
the map thereof, recorded in Volume "A ", Page 32,
Map Records of Nueces County, Texas.
Parcel 2
Lot 8 and portion of Lot 10, Block "H ", Brooklyn
Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces
County, Texas, as shown by the map thereof,
recorded in Volume "A ", Page 32, Map Records of
Nueces County, Texas.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $36,536
out of the No. 124 General Revenue Sharing Fund, Activity 5604, and
$2,464 out of the No. 123 General Revenue Sharing Fund, Activity 5604,
for the total appropriation of $39,000, of which amount $38,000 is for the
land acquisition at the approved values and $1,000 is for incidental
expenses related to closing and other contingencies.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the
necessary documents and to appropriate the sums necessary to acquire the
aforesaid parcels creates a public emergency and an imperative public
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that

such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of
the City Council and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and
necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule
and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction
and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the_ `lnday of 4&&' 1975.

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING
ORDINANCES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCILS I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
