HomeMy WebLinkAbout12862 ORD - 10/22/1975• jkh:10- 14 -75; 1st AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE COMPENSATION FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY'S BOARD OF EQUALIZATION FROM THE PRESENT RATE OF $50 PER DAY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. C� J BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That, as authorized by Section 4 of Article VII, of the City Charter, the compensation for the members of the City's Board of Equalization, presently set at the rate of $50 per day, be and the same is hereby fixed at $ 75.00 for each member for each and every day that said member serves on the Board of Equalization for the City. SECTION 2. The necessity to adequately compensate the members of the Board of Equalization creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule providing that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested that said Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 22nd day of October, 1975.
