AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH E. J. NETER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF CABRA STREET RIGHT -OF -WAY IMPROVEMENTS; APPROPRIAT-
ING $32,000 OUT OF THE NO. 162 FEDERAL GRANTS FUND,
ACTIVITY 4732, CODE 502 OF WHICH $31,837.50 IS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $162.50 IS FOR INCIDENTAL AND
RELATED EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a contract with E. J. Netek Construction Company for construction
of Cabra Street right -of -way improvements, all as more fully described in
the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of
the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and
according to the bid of E. J. Netek Construction Company, opened on the 29th
day of October, 1975, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the
City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 162 Federal
Grants Fund, Activity 4732, Code 502, the sum of $32,000, of which $31,837.50
is for the construction contract and $162.50 is for incidental and related
expenses.
SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to
provide the sums necessary for the aforesaid construction creates a public
emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared
such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of
the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the
