HomeMy WebLinkAbout12893 RES - 11/05/1975• JRH:hb:11/5/75:lst .. • A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE CITY'S ANNUAL PROGRAM OF PROJECTS FOR 1975 -1976 FOR SECTION 5 FUNDS AS PROVIDED BY THE URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION ACT OF 1964, AS AMENDED BY THE NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE ACT OF 1974; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as amended, and particularly as amended by the National Transportation Assistance Act of 1974 (THE ACT), requires the annual submission of programs for Section 5 funds in the respective urbanized areas; and WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi, as the only operator of a public transit system in the urbanized area, has submitted the 1975- 1976 annual program of projects for Section 5 funds as required by THE ACT: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Corpus Christi, Texas hereby endorses the City's 1975 -1976 annual program of projects for Section 5 funds. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that to endorse the City's 1975 -1976 annual program of projects for Section 5 funds as required by the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as amended, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exists, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule that this resolution be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take affect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED, this the r7—N day of,heVE44do-n/ , 1975.
