AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
KING CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF MOLINA UNIT
II STREET IMPROVEMENTS, PART "B "; APPROPRIATING $347,337
OUT OF THE NO. 162 FEDERAL -STATE GRANT FUND, ACTIVITY 4732,
CODE 502, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT, GRANT NO. B-
75-MC-48- 0502, FIRST YEAR PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISH-
MENT OF AN ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE IN THE NO. 220 STREET BOND
FUND FOR SAID $347,337 TO SUPPLEMENT $152,663 IN EXISTING
ALLOCATIONS; APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING $500,000 OUT
OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND, OF WHICH $482,326.56 IS FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $17,673.44 IS FOR INCIDENTAL
AND RELATED EXPENSES, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220- 72 -1.1;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,

SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to
execute a contract with King Construction Company for construction of Molina
Unit II Street Improvements, Part "B ", all as more fully described in the
plane and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the
City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according
to the bid of King Construction Company, opened on the 10th day of September,
1975, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus
Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $347,337
out of the No. 162 Federal -State Grant Fund, Activity 4732, Code 502, Community
Development Block Grant, Grant No. B- 75 -MC -48 -0502, First Year Program, and
there is hereby established an accounts receivable in the No. 220 Street Bond
Fund for the aforesaid $347,337 to supplement $152,663 in existing allocations.
SECTION 3. That there is hereby appropriated and reappropriated
$500,000 out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund, of which $482,326.56 is for the
construction contract and $17,673.44 is for incidental and related expenses,
applicable to Project No. 220- 72 -1.1.
SECTION 4. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to
provide the necessary sums in order that the Molina Unit II Street Improvements,
Part "B ", may be commenced at the earliest practicable date creates a public
emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall
be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having
declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the
suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be
in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED, this the day of November, 1975
