AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF A DRAINAGE AND
UTILITY EASEMENT FROM H. R. HARMON AND WIFE,
CAROL HARMON, IN CONNECTION WITH THE KINGSBURY
DRIVE LATERAL EXTENSION, PROJECT NUMBER 250- 72 -7.3;
APPROPRIATING $195 OUT OF THE NUMBER 250 SANITARY
SEWER BOND FUND FOR THE AFORESAID EASEMENT
ACQUISITION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:

SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to acquire the following drainage and utility easement from the owners,
H. R. Harmon and wife, Carol Harmon, in connection with the Kingsbury
Drive Lateral Extension, Project No. 250- 72 -7.3:
Being a triangular shaped tract of land out of Lot 5, Block 16,
Highway Village, Section 3 as shown by map or record in Volume
13, Page 24, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, and more
particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Lot 5, Block 16,
Highway Village, Section 3, for the Northwest and beginning
corner of the tract of land herein described;
Thence East along the North boundary line of said Lot 5, a
distance of 15.06 feet to a point;
Thence S. 300 34' 19" W., a distance of 34.17 feet to a point
on the Westerly boundary line of said Lot 5;
Thence N. 40 58' 00" E., along the Westerly boundary line of
said Lot 5, a distance of 30.0± to the place of beginning
and containing 225.0 square feet, more or less.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $195
out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund for acquisition of the aforesaid
easement.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize acquisition of the afore-
said easement in order that the project may continue without delay creates
a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council and the Mayor
having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having
requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be

passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be
in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO

RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL) 1, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
