AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE 1975 -76 WATER SYSTEM BUDGET AS
FOLLOWS: CANCELLATION OF THE $172,467.47
APPROPRIATION ENCUMBRANCE FOR DEBT REDEMPTION;
CANCELLATION OF THE $153,155.50 APPROPRIATION-
ENC M RANCES FOR PAYMENT IN LIEU OF PROPERTY
TAX; CANCELLATION OF THE $153,717.50 APPROPRIATION
ENCUMBRANCE FOR PAYMENT OF THE IN- LIEU -OF FRANCHISE
_TAX.; CANCELLATION OF THE 1975 -76 $945,962.00
APPROPRIATION FOR PAYMENT ON CHORE CANYON DAM;
APPROPRIATE $411,362.00 FOR THE FIRST PHASE OF THE
STAPLES- BALDWIN WATER LINE PROJECT AND APPROPRIATING
$64,000.00 FOR THE JUNIOR LIEN WATER REVENUE DEBT
SERVICE RESERVE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the 1975 -76 Water System Budget be and the same
is hereby amended as follows: "Cancellation of the $172,467.47 appropriation
encumbrance for debt redemption; cancellation of the $153,155.50 appro-
priation- encumbrances for payment in lieu of property tax; cancellation
of the $153,717.50 appropriation encumbrance for payment of the in- lieu -of
franchise tax; cancellation of the 1975 -76 $945,962.00 appropriation fpr
payment on Choke Canyon Dam; appropriate $411,362.00 for the First Phase
of the Staples - Baldwin [dater Line project and appropriating $64,000.00
for the Junior Lien Water Revenue Debt Service Reserve."
SECTION 2. The necessity to amend the 1975 -76 Water System
Budget as hereinabove set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro-
duction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such
emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the
Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and
effect from and fter its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING
ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
