HomeMy WebLinkAbout12947 ORD - 12/31/1975• JKH:vp:12 /10 /75:lst , A AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 21 -131, PARKING METER ZONES ESTABLISHED, BY ADDING TO SUBSECTION a METER ZONE NO. 1, AN ITEM TO BE NUMBERED 17, TO PROVIDE FOR CHANGE FROM TWO -HOUR TO TEN -HOUR PARKING METERS ON N. CARANCAHUA STREET BETWEEN LIPAN STREET AND MESTINA STREET; AMENDING SUBSECTION (b) OF SAID SECTION 21 -131, ENTITLED "METER ZONE NO. 2 ", SO AS TO AMEND ITEM 7 TO HEREAFTER READ "N. CARANCAHUA STREET, FROM MESTINA STREET TO BUFFALO STREET "; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVID- ING FOR PUBLICATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi City Code, 1958, as amended, be amended by amending Section 21 -131, Parking Meter Zones Established, by adding to said Section 21 -131 under subsection (a), Meter Zone No. 1, an item to be numbered 17, reading as follows: "(17) North Carancahua Street, Lipan Street to Mestina Street" on which a minimum of one hour and a maximum of 10 hours is provided upon the deposit of one 5 -cent coin for each hour or ten 5 -cent coins, or combina- tion of 5 -cent coins, dime, or quarter coins for ten hours, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. on any day except Sundays and holidays officially set by the City Council, and except Saturday afternoon. SECTION 2. That the Corpus Christi City Code, 1958, as amended, be amended by amending Section 21 -131, Parking Meter Zones Established, by amending under said section under subsection (b), Meter Zone No. 2, Item 7 to hereafter read as follows: "(7) North Carancahus, Street, from Mestina Street to Buffalo Street" on which parking shall be limited to thirty minutes upon deposit of a five - cent coin, one hour upon deposit of two five -cent coins, or one dime coin, and two hours upon deposit of four five -cent coins or two dime coins or one quarter coin, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. on any day except Sundays and holidays officially set by the City Council and except Saturday afternoon. 12947 SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and they are hereby repealed to the extent of conflict herewith. SECTION 4. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent ,jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 5. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of this ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
