AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $1,900,000 OUT OF THE NO. 145
CHOKE CANYON RESERVOIR FOND FOR THE PURPOSE OF
MAKING PERIODIC ADVANCE PAYMENTS TO THE U. S.
BUREAU OF RECLAMATION FOR THE BUREAU'S COST OF
DEVELOPING THE NUECES RIVER FEDERAL RECLAMATION
PROJECT (CHOKE CANYON RESERVOIR) IN ACCORDANCE
WITH BUREAU'S CONTRACT NO. 6 -07 -01 -%0532
AUTHORIZED ON NOVEMBER 5, 1975; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $1,900,000 out
of the No. 145 Choke Canyon Reservoir Fund for the purpose of making
periodic advance payments to the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation for the
Bureau's cost of developing the Nueces River Federal Reclamation Project
(Choke Canyon Reservoir) in accordance with the Bureau's Contract No.
6 -07-01 -X0532 authorized on November 5, 1975.
SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately make available
the aforesaid sums for the purposes outlined creates a public emergency
and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date
of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared
such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of
the Charter rule and that this ordinance' take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this
