HomeMy WebLinkAbout12997 ORD - 01/28/1976• JXH:vmr:1- 28- 76;lst • AN ORDINANCE CORRECTING AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 12006, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON APRIL 17, 1974, PERTAINING TO THE ASSESSMENTS ON NUECES BAY BOULEVARD, FROM I. H. 37 TO LEOPARD STREET, BY REVISING ITEM 10 OF THE ASSESSMENT ROLL TO SHOW THE TRUE OWNERSHIP OF SAID ITEM BY ESTABLISHING ITEMS 10-A AND 10-B AND ASSESSING SAID PROPERTIES AS HERE- INAFTER SET FORTH SUBJECT TO THE OWNERS' AGREEMENT TO EXECUTE A MECHANICS LIEN; PROVIDING THAT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF SAID ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED, SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 11927, passed and approved by the City Council on the 27th day of February, 1974, levied assessments against the properties abutting Nueces Bay Boulevard, from Interstate Highway 37 to Leopard Street; and WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 12006, passed and approved on April 17, 1974, the City Council closed the public hearing granted the real and true owners of property abutting the portion of Nueces Bay Boulevard, from Interstate Highway 37 to Leopard Street, and adopted a final assessment roll; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable at this time to revise Item 10 of the aforesaid assessment roll to show the true ownership of said item by establishing Items 10 -A and 10-B, more fully set forth hereinafter: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITi OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 12006, passed and approved by the City Council on April 17, 1974, closing the public hearing granted to real and true owners of property abutting Nueces Bay Boulevard, between Interstate Highway 37 and Leopard Street, and adapting a final assessment roll, be and the same is hereby amended by revising Item 10 of the said assessment roll to hereafter provide as follows: "Item 10 -A. Westside Automotive of Corpus Christi Lot 7, Block 1, Barthlome Addition $2,570.80 Item 10 -B. Joe H. George Lot 8, Block 1, Barthlome Addition $1,534.761, subject to the owners' agreeing to execute a Mechanic's Lien for the above. 12997 • • - SECTION 2. That all provisions of said Ordinance No. 12006, as amended, shall be and remain in full force and effect, unchanged as hereto- fore enacted except insofar as the same is corrected and amended hereby. SECTION 3. The necessity to immediately effect the amendment hereinabove creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the �®f 7day of , 1975.
