HomeMy WebLinkAbout13013 ORD - 02/04/1976• jkh:2 -4 -76; 2nd • TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 218 TRANSIT BOND FUND FOR PROJECT NO. 218 -72 -2, BUS REPLACEMENT - 1975 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS, $61,820 FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF TWO -WAY RADIO EQUIPMENT FOR TRANSIT BUSES, AS PROVIDED IN THE 1975 UMTA CAPITAL GRANT PROJECT NO. TX -03 -0020, $39,000 OF WHICH IS AUTHORIZED FOR THE PURCHASE OF 35 TWO -WAY RADIOS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT THROUGH THE COASTAL BEND COUNCIL OF GOVERN- MENTS, TO TARE ADVANTAGE OF A FAVORABLE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COUNCIL OF GOVERN- MENTS AND THE GENERAL ELECTRIC CORPORATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 218 Transit Bond Fund for Project No. 218 -72 -2, Bus Replacement - 1975 Capital Improvements, $61,820 for the purchase and installation of two -way radio equipment for transit buses, as provided in the 1975 UMTA Capital Grant Project No. TX-03 -0020, $39,000 of which is authorized for the purchase of 35 two -way radios and related equipment through the Coastal Bend Council of Governments, to take advantage of a favorable contract between the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the General Electric Corporation. SECTION 2. The necessity to execute the contract and to provide the necessary funds for the acquisition of the two -way radios and related equipment as aforesaid creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the�day of February, 1976.
