HomeMy WebLinkAbout13031 ORD - 02/11/1976• JKH:hb:2 /10/76:1et • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF THE UNDIVIDED 1/2 INTEREST IN LOT 21, BLOCK 7, STEELE ADDITION, FROM JAMES C. MARTIN; REAPPROPRIATING OUT OF THE GENERAL FUND RESERVE $416.63, OF WHICH $300 IS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE PROPERTY, $27.93 FOR PAYMENT OF TAXES DUE ON THE PROPERTY, AND $88.70 IS FOR 6% INTEREST ON THE PURCHASE PRICE FROM THE DATE OF MR. MARTIN'S OWNERSHIP, MARCH 2, 1971; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF-THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to acquire the undivided one -half interest in Lot 21, Block 7, Steele Addition, from James C. Martin, the City, being the owner of the other undivided one -half interest in the said Lot 21, Block 7, Steele Addition. SECTION 2. That there is hereby reappropriated out of the General Fund Reserve $416.63, of which $300 is for the purchase of the aforesaid undivided one -half interest in Lot 219 Block 7, Steele Addition to the City of Corpus Christi; $27,93 is for payment of taxes due on the property; and $88.70 is for six percent (67) interest on the purchase price from the date of Mr. Martin's ownership, March 2, 1971. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize acquisition of the undivided one -half interest in the aforesaid parcel or tract of land creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the 1Lay of , 1976.
