TEXAS:
AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH HUNT BUILDING COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF FIRE
STATION NO. 14 AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IN THE DEDUCTIVE AMOUNT OF $22,958;
APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING A TOTAL OF $196,500,
OF WHICH $178,168.61 IS OUT OF THE NO. 260 FIRE STATION
BOND.FUND, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 260 -72 -1, AND
$18,331.39 IS OUT OF THE NO. 102 GENERAL FUND RESERVE,
WHICH AMOUNT WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO THE NO. 260 FIRE
STATION BOND FUND, PROJECT NO. 260 -72 -1; OF SAID TOTAL
APPROPRIATION $189,031 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT,
$5,018 IS FOR ADDITIONAL ARCHITECTURAL FEES OF BROCK,
MABRY AND PARTNERS, AND $2,451 IS FOR INCIDENTAL AND
RELATED EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a contract with Hunt Building Company for construction of Fire
Station No. 14, all as more fully described in the plans and specifications
and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of
which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Hunt
Building Company, opened on the 28th day of January, 1976, said bid being the
lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute Change Order No. 1 in the deductive amount of $22,958 in connec-
tion with the construction of Fire Station No. 14.
SECTION 3. That there is hereby appropriated and reappropriated
a total of $196,500, of which $178,168.61 is out of the No. 260 Fire Station
Bond Fund, applicable to Project No. 260 -72 -1, and $18,331.39 is out of the
No. 102 General Fund Reserve, which amount will be transferred to the No. 260
Fire Station Bond Fund, for Project No. 260 -72 -1; of said total appropriation
$189,031 is for the construction contract, $5,018 is for additional architec-
tural fees of Brock, Mabry and Partners, and $2,451 is for incidental and
related expenses. 1
SECTION 4. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid
contract and the said change order and to provide sufficient funds in order
that the construction of the aforesaid fire station may be commenced at the

earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public
necessity, requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction, but that
said ordinance shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council,
and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exists,
and having requested that said Charter rule be suspended, and that this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take
effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the�day of February, 1976.

SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
