HomeMy WebLinkAbout13046 ORD - 02/18/1976• jkh:2- 17 -76; 1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 12954, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON DECEMBER 31, 1975, WHICH PERTAINS TO THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO MAVERICK CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF LEXINGTON INDUSTRIAL CENTER SANITARY SEWER LIFT STATION AND FORCE MAIN, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 2, 3 AND 4 THEREOF, AS HEREINAFTER PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 12954, passed and approved by the City Council on December 31, 1975, pertaining to the award of a contract to Maverick Construction Company for construction of Lexington Industrial Center Sanitary Sewer Lift Station and Force Main, be amended by amending Sections 2, 3 and 4 thereof, said amended sections to read as follows: "SECTION 2. That there is hereby cancelled the appropriation of $27,250.14 in the Nos. 121, 122, 123, and 124 General Revenue Sharing Funds, and there is hereby transferred interest earnings of $3,146.52 in the Nos. 121, 122, and 125 General Revenue Sharing Funds, according to the schedule attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A ", and made a part hereof. "SECTION 3. That authorization is hereby granted to,tranafer the aforesaid amounts totaling $30,396.66 to the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund to supplement $37,603.34 in existing funds, including $18,200 provided by John Tucker, developer of Lexington Industrial.Center Subdivi- sion, and $19,403.34 in Bond Funds. "SECTION 4. That there is hereby appropriated and reappropriated $68,000 out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund, of which $63,345.04 is for the construction contract and $4,650.96 is for incidental and related expenses, all applicable to Project No. 250- 72 -15." SECTION 2. Except as herein provided, all the provisions and terms and conditions set forth in Ordinance No. 12954 shall be and remain in full force and effect. • SECTION 3. The necessity to amend the said Ordinance No. 12954 as hereinabove set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or 13046 resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the of February, 1976.
