HomeMy WebLinkAbout13055 ORD - 03/03/1976OJKH:hb:3 /l /76:lst AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH B & B BUILDERS, A PARTNERSHIP, FOR CONSTRUCTION OF WILLIAMS DRIVE SIDEWALK AND BICYCLE RAMP IMPROVE- MENTS; APPRORIATING $7,000 OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND, OF WHICH $6,199 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $801 IS FOR INCIDENTAL AND RELATED EXPENSES APPLICABLE TO PROJECT N0. 220- 72 -26; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with B & B Builders for construction of Williams Drive Sidewalk and Bicycle Ramp Improvements, as more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of B & B Builders, opened on the 24th day of February, 1976, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund the sum of '$7,000, of which $6,199 is for the construction contract and $801 is for incidental and related expenses applicable to Project No. 220- 72 -26. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the sums herainabove set out in order that construction may be commenced at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and 14ay from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the of , 1976.
