HomeMy WebLinkAbout13068 RES - 03/10/1976A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Chief William Red Fox, a long -time resident of Corpus Christi, was on March 1, 1976, called to his eternal rest; and WHEREAS, Chief.William Red Fox will be remembered in Corpus Christi and South Texas as a man of warmth and sincerity and as a great storyteller, particularly among the school children in the area; and WHEREAS, Chief Red Fox, a full - blooded Sioux Indian, was proud of the role he occupied in the history of this country and enthusiastically shared with others across the United States his many varied and colorful experiences, unashamedly promoting his philosophy concerning love of country, respect for law and order, a sense of fairness and obedience, and a genuine concern for his fellow man;.and WHEREAS, his vast knowledge and untiring service to the community have benefited innumerable people, and his passing is a great loss to the citizens of the City of Corpus Christi as well as to his family and many friends, leaving an irreplaceable void in the community: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That this brief record of the many accomplishments of Chief William Red Fox be recalled and that the citizens of this community join in mourning the loss of this valuable citizen. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the family of Chief William Red Fox. PASSED AND APPROVED this the 10th day of March, 1976.
