AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF LABOR A LETTER OF INTENT EXPRESSING
THE CITY'S DESIRE TO CONTINUE ITS PARTICIPATION
IN THE COASTAL BEND MANPOWER CONSORTIUM AND TO ACT
AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT, FOR STATE PLANNING
REGION 20, AND TRANSMITTING PREAPPLICATION INFOR-
MATION, ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH RULES AND REGULATIONS
OF COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING ACT OF
1973; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TESAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to submit to the Department of Labor a letter of intent expressing the
City's desire to continue its participation in the Coastal Bend Manpower
Consortium and act as the administrative unit for State Planning Region
20, and transmitting preapplication material, all in accordance with the
rules and regulations of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act
of 1973.
SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize submission of the
aforesaid letter of intent in order to express the City's desire to
continue its participation in the Coastal Bend Manpower Consortium creates
a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the sus-
pension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally an the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested
the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect
and be in full force and effect yfrom and after its passage, IT IS ACCORD-
INGLY SO ORDAINED this the �d of 1976.

REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
