HomeMy WebLinkAbout13081 ORD - 03/17/1976JKH:vmr:3- 15-76;lst • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SOUTHWEST- RATHGEBER CO. FOR THE REMOVAL OF OBSTRUCTIONS ALONG CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH; APPROPRIATING AND REAPPRO- PRIATING $43,000 OUT OF THE NO. 126 GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND RESERVE, WHICH AMOUNT WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO THE NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND FOR PROJECT NO. 291 -72- 11.1, OF WHICH SAID TOTAL APPROPRIATION $41,444.70 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $1,555.30 IS FOR INCIDENTAL AND RELATED EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Southwest - Rathgeber Co. for the removal of obstructions along Corpus Christi Beach, all as is more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Southwest- Rathgeber Co., opened on the 10th day of March, 1976, the said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated and reappropriated the sum of $43,000 out of the No. 126 General Revenue Sharing Fund Reserve, which amount will be transferred to the No. 291 Park Bond Fund, for Project No. 291 -72 -" .1, of which said total appropriation $41,444.70 is for the construction contract and $1,555.30 is for incidental and related expenses. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to provide the summa necessary in order that the removal of obstructions along Corpus Christi Beach may be commenced at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having 13081 declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effeycttf —rom and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of March, 1976. :: 4� Cit§ Secretary MAYOR r�/ l/ THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS APP DAY OF 1976 J.
