LAWTON STREET, FROM GREENWOOD DRIVE TO APPROXI- MATELY 150 FEET SOUTHWEST OF WASHINGTON STREET; 2. WASHINGTON STREET, FROM LAWTON STREET TO SOLEDAD STREET; 3. CARVER STREET, FROM LAWTON STREET TO TARLTON STREET; 4. ADA STREET, FROM ELGIN STREET TO WASHINGTON STREET; 5. DIXIE STREET, FROM ELGIN STREET TO WASHINGTON STREET; 6. BLARE STREET, FROM DUNBAR STREET TO SONORA STREET; ALL AS HEREINAFTER MORE FULLY SET FORTH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 12677, passed and approved by the City Council on July 2, 1975, be amended by deleting therefrom in its entirety Item No. 14 from the listed streets to be improved, said Item No. 14 reading as follows: "14. A section of 4-foot wide sidewalk abutting Lot 1, Block 4, Bonita Addition." SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 12677, closing the hearing on street improvements for the Washington - Carver Area, be amended by amending Section 3 of said ordinance so as to correct and adjust the assessments levied against the abutting property owners on the following streets: Washington -Carver Area Unit I, Phase "A ": 1. Lawton Street, from Greenwood Drive to approxi- mately 150 feet southwest of Washington Street; 2. Washington Street, from Lawton Street to Soledad Street; 13104 FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL WASHINGTON- CARVER AREA UNIT I STREET DdPROVEMENTS MARCH 24, 1976 Phase "A" of the Washington - Carver Area Streets shall include improvements to the following streets: 1. Lawton Street, from Greenwood Drive to approximately 150 feet southwest of Washington Street; 2. Washington Street, from Lawton Street to Soledad Street; 3. Carver Street, from Lawton Street to Tarlton Street; 4. Ada Street, from Elgin Street to Washington Street; 5. Dixie Street, from Elgin Street to Washington Street; 6. Kitchens Street, from Elgin Street to Washington Street; 7. Rogers Street, from Elgin Street to Washington Street; 8. Soledad Street, from Greenwood Drive to Carver Street; and 9. Elgin Street, from Lawton Street to Soledad Street. Phase "B" Washington - Carver Area Unit I Street Improvements shall include improvements to the following streets: 10. Carver, from Tarlton Street to Baldwin Boulevard; 11. Elgin Street, from Tarlton Street to Dunbar Street and from Easley Street to Sonora Street; -2. Sabinas Street, from Tarlton Street to Sonora Street; 13. Blake Street, from Dunbar Street to Sonora Street. These streets have been constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the laying of a standard curb and gutter section, 6" compacted subgrade, 8" stabilized caliche base and lZ" type "D" hot mix asphalt surface for a pavement width of 28' back to back of curb, except adjacent to the school property where extra width has been provided for loading and unloading school children. a 4' or 5' wide, 4" thick reinforced concrete sidewalk was constructed on each side of the streets. Standard 6" thick reinforced concrete driveways were constructed where shown as requested by the abutting property owners. The cost of construction for this work is as follows: Phase "A ", Asphalt Paving & Construction $496,677.16 Phase "B ", Asphalt Maintenance Company 305,5 .25 Total Contract Cost 802,198. 1 r: 0 The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the assessment policy of the City and based on the lowest unit bid price of both bids sub- mitted. Based on this lowest unit price bid, the assessment rates have been calculated as follows: 4" Curb, Gutter and Pavement $5.78 p.l.f. 6" Curb, Gutter and Pavement $5.99 p.l.f. Sidewalk $0.81 p.s.f. Driveway $1.76 p.s.f. All properties, one and two family use, churches and schools have been assessed at the maximum rate established by the City Council as: Curb, Gutter and Pavement Sidewalk $4.75 P.].f. $0.75 P.s.f.
