HomeMy WebLinkAbout13114 ORD - 03/31/1976• E:vmr:3- 29- 76;18t AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH ELECTRIC CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC., FOR THE H.E.B. TENNIS CENTER LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS; APPROPRIATING AND RE- APPROPRIATING $2,600 OUT OF NO. 102 GENERAL FUND, ACTIVITY 4133, CODE 502, OF WHICH $2,458 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $142 IS FOR INCIDENTAL AND RELATED EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, • SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Electric Construction Company, Inc., for the H.E.B. Tennis Center Lighting Improvements, all as is more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Electric Construction Company, Inc., opened on the 23rd day of March, 1976, the said bid being the most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated and reappropriated the sum of $2,600 out of No. 102 General Fund, Activity 4133, Cede 502, of which $2,458 is for the construction contract and $142 is for incidental and related expenses. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to provide the sums necessary so that this project can be commenced at the earliest possible date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having re- quested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY r- SO ORDAINED, this the day of March, 1976.
