HomeMy WebLinkAbout13122 ORD - 04/07/1976• JRE:hb:4 /5/76:lst • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 TO THE CONTRACT WITH ASPHALT MAINTENANCE COMPANY, INC., FOR CONSTRUCTION IMPROVEMENTS TO PALOMA STREET, SAID CHANGE ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR INCREASING THE SCOPE OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT TO INCLUDE IMPROVEMENTS TO JARVIS DRIVE; APPROPRIATING $12,000 OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND, OF WHICH $11,806.80 IS FOR THE CHANGE ORDER AND $193.20 - IS FOR INCIDENTAL AND RELATED EXPENSES, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220- 72 -1.6; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 2 to the contract with Asphalt Maintenance Company, Inc., for construction of improvements to Paloma Street, said Change Order to provide for increasing the scope of the original contract to include improvements to Jarvis Drive. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund the sum of $12,000, of which $11,806.80 is for the Change Order and $193.20 is for incidental and related expenses, applicable to Project No. 220.72 -1.6. SECTION 3. That the necessity to execute the Change Order as aforesaid and to provide sufficient funds to complete the street improve- ments outlined hereinabove creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the _day of 1976.
