HomeMy WebLinkAbout13125 ORD - 04/07/1976j11:4 -7 -76; 1st s- + TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9499, GENERALLY REFERRED TO AS THE "ELECTRICAL LICENSING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI," AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING PARAGRAPH (c) OF SECTION 1 -2 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT ONE OF THE TWO ENGINEERING MEMBERS OF THE ELECTRICAL ADVISORY BOARD MUST BE A REGISTERED ENGINEER IN THE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE OTHER SHALL HAVE A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING WITH A MINIMUM OF FIVE (5) YEARS EXPERIENCE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 9499, generally referred to as the "Electrical Licensing Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi," as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by amending paragraph (c) of Section 1 -2: QUALIFICATIONS, so as to hereafter read as follows: "(c) Of the two Engineering members, one must be a Registered Engineer in the State of Texas, and the other shall have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of five (5) years experience in Electrical Engineering." SECTION 2. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi one time, which publication shall contain the caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance. SECTION 3. The necessity to amend the Electrical Licensing Ordinance as hereinabove set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having requested the suspension of the said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the / day of April, 1976.
