HomeMy WebLinkAbout13134 ORD - 04/14/1976• JKH:hb:4 /13/76:lst AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 12745, PASSED AND APPROVED ON AUGUST 13, 1975, PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF HORNE ROAD FROM THE WEST RIGHT -OF -WAY LINE OF COLUMBIA STREET TO THE EAST RIGHT -OF -WAY LINE OF MOLINA DRIVE SO AS TO DELETE THAT PORTION OF SIDEWALKS ON HORNE ROAD, SOUTH SIDE, FROM THE EAST RIGHT -OF -WAY LINE OF ELVIRA DRIVE TO THE WEST RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF COLUMBIA STREET; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 12745, passed and approved by • the City Council on August 13, 1975, providing for the construction of sidewalks on the south side of Horne Road, from the west right- of-way line of Columbia Street to the east right -of -way line of Molina Drive, be and the same is hereby amended so as to delete that portion of sidewalks on Horne Road, south side, from the east right -of -way line of Elvira Drive to the west right- of-way line of Columbia Street. SECTION 2. The fact that it would be more practical to construct as part of the future improvements to Horne Road the sidewalks hereby proposed to be deleted from the current improvement project creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the ZK71ay of , 1976.
