HomeMy WebLinkAbout13145 ORD - 04/21/1976• jkh:4- 21 -76; 1st • AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CONTRACT WITH THE CRISIS INTERVENTION CENTER FOR OPERATION OF THE RAPE CRISIS CENTER, AS AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 12980, BY AMENDING PARAGRAPH 3g THEREOF BY ADDING PROVISION FOR ACCESS TO ANY BOOKS, DOCUMENTS, PAPERS AND RECORDS PERTINENT TO THE GRANT PROJECT BY ANY OFFICIAL OR DULY AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF STATE OR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH HEREINAFTER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE _CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the contract with the Crisis Intervention Center for operation of the Rape Crisis Center, as authorized by Ordinance No. 12980, be and the same is hereby amended by amending paragraph 3g of said contract by adding the following provision to said paragraph 3g: furthermore that the State of Texas, the U. S. Department of Justice and the Comptroller General of the United States, or any of their duly authorized representatives shall have access to any books, documents, papers and records pertinent to this grant project for the pur- pose of making audit, examination, excerpts and transcripts. It is under- stood, however, that the names, addresses and personal data concerning clients of the Contractor shall remain confidential." Said paragraph 3g shall hereafter read as follows: "g. Make available at reasonable times and for reasonable periods those books, records, and supporting documents kept current by the Contractor and its subcontractors pertaining to this project for purposes of inspection, monitoring, auditing, or evaluating by the City Personnel or their representatives; furthermore that the State of Texas, the U. S. Department of Justice and the Comptroller General of the United States, or any of their duly authorized representatives shall have access to any books, documents, papers and records pertinent to this grant project for the purpose of making audit, examination, excerpts and transcripts. It is understood, however, that the names, addresses and personal data concerning clients of the Contractor shall remain confidential." SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the contract between the City of Corpus Christi and the Crisis Intervention Center as aforesaid creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be J=45 passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introductioiand take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this th _1 S day of April, 1976. Assistant Attorney • AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF NUECES Q WHEREAS, by authority of Ordinance No. 12980, passed and approved by the City Council on January 14, 1976, the City of Corpus Christi entered into a contract with Crisis Intervention Service for operation of a Rape Crisis Center; and WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable that the aforesaid contract be amended: NOW, THEREFORE, the parties to the contract hereinabove referred to, executed on the 25th day of January, 1976, agree that the following amend- ment be made to the current contract: That Section 3. g. be amended to hereafter read as follows: "g. Piake available at reasonable times and for reasonable periods those books, records, and supporting documents kept current by the Contractor and its subcontractors pertaining to this project for purposes of inspection, monitoring, auditing, or evaluating by the City Personnel or their representa- tives; furthermore, that the State of Texas, the U.
