BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUMCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That a copy of this ordinance, signed by the Mayor of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, shall constitute notice of City voting precincts, polling place locations and designation of election judges and alternates at said election, and the Mayor is directed to cause a copy of this ordinance, signed by him, to be posted at the City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, and to have a copy of this ordinance published in the Corpus Christi Times, the official newspaper of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, it being a newspaper of general circulation, published within the City of Corpus Christi, said publication to be made prior to the date of the holding of general and special elections in 1976. -3- SECTION 3. The necessity to delineate City voting precincts, to designate polling place locations, and to designate election judges and alternates at the aforementioned elections creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 12th day of May, 1976.
