AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF FIFTEEN 45- PASSEN-
GER TRANSIT BUSES FROM GMC TRUCK AND COACH AS
PROVIDED IN THE 1975 UMTA CAPITAL GRANT PROJECT
NO. TX- 03-0020 FOR $905,114.25; APPROPRIATING OUT
OF THE NO. 218 TRANSIT BOND FUND FOR PROJECT
NO. 218 -72 -2, BUS REPLACEMENT - 1975 CAPITAL IM-
PROVEMENTS, AN AMOUNT OF $905,114.25 FOR THE SAID
PURCHASE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given for purchase of
fifteen 45- passenger transit buses from GMC Truck and Coach for $905,114.25 as
provided for in the 1975 UMTA Capital Grant Project No. TX -03 -0020.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 218
Transit Bond Fund for Project No. 218 -72 -2, Bus Replacement - 1975 Capital
Improvements, the amount of $905,114.25 for the purchase of said buses.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize purchase of the aforesaid
passenger transit buses and to provide the necessary sums for the said purchase
creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested
the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on
the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of June,
1976.

from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for

BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT -SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 11 THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
