HomeMy WebLinkAbout13235 ORD - 06/16/1976jkh:6- 16 -76; 1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 10644, SECTION 2, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR REPRESENTATIVE OTHER THAN THE CHAIRMAN OF THE LA RETAMA LIBRARY BOARD AS THE CITY'S LAY REPRESENTATIVE OF SAID CITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 10644 be and the same is' hereby amended to hereafter read as follows: "Section 2. The Chairman of the La Retama Library Board is hereby designated the City's lay representative o; said City and Library to the System organizational meeting. If the Chairman of the La Retama Library Board does not desire to serve as the City's lay representative, the City's lay representative shall be designated by the City Council." SECTION 2. Except as herein and hereby amended, the terms, conditions, and provisions of Ordinance No. 1'0644 shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. The necessity to make the hereinabove set forth amendment at the earliest practicable date creates a public-emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspen- sion of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this theAL day of June, 1976.
