HomeMy WebLinkAbout13264 ORD - 06/30/1976Oe:6/30/76, O AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13025, PASSED AND APPROVED FEBRUARY 11, 1976, PERTAINING TO THE FOLLOWING STREET: PALOMA STREET, FROM OCEAN DRIVE TO JARVIS DRIVE, AND 172" SOUTH OF JARVIS DRIVE TO 290" NORTH OF ALAMEDA STREET, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO ADD THOSE ITEMS ADDED TO THIS CONSTRUCTION PROJECT BY CHANGE ORDER AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 13122, PASSED AND APPROVED APRIL 7, 1976, AS FOLLOWS: JARVIS DRIVE, FROM PALOMA STREET TO WRAY LANE, AND TO CORRECT AND ADJUST THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, ALL AS IS MORE FULLY HEREINAFTER SET OUT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 13025, passed and approved on February 11,'1976, closingrthe hearing oh- the;streetsd mprovements for the following street within the City: Paloma Street, from Ocean Drive to Jarvis Drive, and 172' South of Jarvis Drive to 290' North of Alameda Street, be amended by amending Section 3. of said.drdinance to?dbclude those items added to this construction project by change order authorized by Ordinance No. 13122, passed and approved April 7, 1976, as follows: Jarvis Drive, from Paloma Street to Wray Lane, and to correct and adjust the assessments levied against the abutting property owners, all as is more fully set forth and described in the corrected final assessment roll, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A ". SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the assessment roll as herein set forth creates a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule "'L NLMED , � � JUN 171980 and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the ?O day of J uX)E , 1976. BRUCE AYCOCK, y Attorney By Assistant City Attor ey MAYOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS E* CORRECTED JUNE 24, 1976 FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL PALOMA STREET IMPROVEMENTS AND JARVIS STREET IMPROVEMENTS* Paloma Street, from Ocean Drive to Jarvis Drive, and 172' South of Jarvis Drive to 290' North of Alameda Street and Jarvis Drive, from Paloma to Wray Lane Paloma Street, within the limits described, is to be improved by excava- tion to a width and depth to permit the construction of a 28' wide back to back of curb street, 4" standard curb and gutter, 6" compacted sub - grade, 8" compacted caliche base and 1y' Type D hot -mix asphalt surface. From Ocean Drive to Jarvis Drive, the sidewalks will be 5' wide tied to back of curb, and from 172' south of Jarvis to 290' north of Alameda, on the east side only, the sidewalk will be 4' wide. All driveways will be 6" thick reinforced concrte. The assessment rates have been determined by taking the unit prices used in the low bid submitted by Asphalt Maintenance Company and.applying these unit prices to the front footage of the abutting properties in accordance with the assessment policy. The rates are as follows: Pavement, Curb and Gutter $6.40 p.l.f. Sidewalk .75 p.S.f. Driveway 1.81 p.s.f.
