AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
1976 REVISION, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION NUMBERED AND
ENTITLED "SEC. 2 -97 LIBRARY - FEES "; PROVIDING AN EFFEC-
TIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi,
1976 Revision, be and the same is hereby amended by adding a new section
numbered and entitled "Sec. 2 -97 Library -Fees" to read as follows:
"Sec. 2 -97. Library - Fees.
Overdue books* - adult (per day) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - .02
" " juvenile (per day) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - .O1
" on the 15th day, in addition to .02 or .01 per
day charges - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - .50
" it on the 45th day, in addition to all other over-
due book charges provided herein - - - - - - - .50
Lost book charges - - - - - - - - - - - - - list price of the book
Fee card (non- resident) (per year) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 5.00
Duplicate borrower's card (each) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - .50
Transaction or book card (each) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 25
Signature card (each) -------------- - - - - -- .10
Reader - printer (each copy) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - .10
Charge for book damage - Actual repair cost (minimum each) - - .50

*'Book' shall be construed as a book or any other item or materials
loaned by the library, excluding art prints."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective August 1, 1976.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid
or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction
it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word,
or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 4. Publication shall be made one time in the official publi-
cation of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption of this ordi-
nance stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
