HomeMy WebLinkAbout13320 ORD - 08/04/1976dLB ]0.7 -30 -76 lot AM DOING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 18, FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION, ARTICLE III, FIREIORKS, SECTION 18 -47 THEREOF, SO AS TO PROYIOE THAT THE APPLICATION OF THE PROVISIONS PROHIBITING THE SALE OR POSSESSION OF FIREWORKS WITHIN 5,000 FEET OF THE CITY LIMITS NOT BE EFFECTIVE UNTIL 120 DAYS AFTER SUCH AREA COMES WITHIN 5,000 FEET OF THE CITY THROUGH ANNEXATION, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TExAS• SECTION 1. That Chapter 18, Fire Prevention and Protection, Article III, Fireworks, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christ,. 1976 Revision, be amended by amending Section 18 -47 thereof, to hereafter read as follows: "Section 18 -47. Applicability of Article. All of the provisions of this Article shall apply to all of the area within the city limits and to all of that area adjacent to the City and within five thousand (5,000) feet of the city limits Provided, however, that no change in the city limits occurring after August 4, 1976, shall affect an expansion of the area within which this Article applies until the 120th day following the effective data of such change in the city limits." SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or pravisi on of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final ,judgment of a court of competent ,jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3.
