AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CONTRACT AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE 13305,
PASSED AND APPROVED JULY 28, 1976, BETWEE11 THE CITY
- OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION
OF FIREFIGHTERS, LOCAL UNION 936, 8Y DELETING ARTICLE
VI, SECTION 1, PERTAINING TO RETIREMENT, IN ITS ENTIRETY,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS
SECTION i That the Contract between the City of Corpus Christi
and the lnternatlona] Ass ociatic, of Fire Fighters, Local Union 936, pursuant
to collective bargaining negotiations, be and the same is hereby amended by
deleting Article VI, Section 1, pertaining to retirement, in its entirety
SECTION 2. That the necessity to amend the aforesaid contract
at the earliest possible date so that said contract will be acceptable to
all parties creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity
requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally On the date of its introduction but that such ordi-
nance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist,
and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordi-
nance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and
be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
SO ORDAINED, this the 11th day of August, 1976.
