AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH ASPHALT MAINTENANCE COMPANY, INC., FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS AT THE
LINDALE SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER; APPROPRIATING AND
REAPPROPRIATING $12,000 OUT OF THE N0. 126 GENERAL
REVENUE SHARING FUND APPLICABLE TO SENIOR CITIZENS
COMMUNITY SERVICES CODE 502; OF THE TOTAL REAPPRO-
PRIATION OF $12,000, $10,685.39 IS FOR THE CONSTRUC-
TION CONTRACT AND $1,314.61 IS FOR ENGINEERING, LABOR-
ATORY TESTING AND RELATED EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY. .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a contract with Asphalt Maintenance Company, Inc., for construc-
tion of parking lot improvements at the Lindale Senior Citizens Center, all
as more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract docu-

ments on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made
a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Asphalt Maintenance
Company, Inc., opened on the 10th day of August, 1976, said bid being the
lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
'SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated and reappropriated
the sum of $12,000 out of the No. 126 General Revenue Sharing Fund applicable
to Senior Citizens Community Services Code 502; of the total reappropriation
of $12,000, $10,685.39 is for the construction contract and $1,314.61 is
for engineering, laboratory testing and related expenses.
SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and
to provide the sums hereinabove set forth in order that construction of the
parking lot improvements at the Lindale Senior Citizens Center may be
commenced at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and
an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date
of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared
such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of
the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force

AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 12773, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1975, BY AMENDING
SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO CORRECT AND ADJUST
THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS
ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS:
1. Barrera Drive, from Bloomington Street to Horne Road;

5. Mendoza Street, from Elvira Drive to Columbia Street,
AS HEREINAFTER PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 12773, passed and approved by the
City Council on August 27, 1975, be and the same is hereby amended by amending
Section 3 of said ordinance so as to correct and adjust the assessments
levied against abutting property owners on the following streets:
1. Barrera Drive, from Bloomington Street to Horne Road;
2. Angela Drive, from Bloomington Street to Horne Road;
3. Elvira Drive, from Bloomington Street to Horne Road;
4. Lolita Street, from Elvira Drive to Columbia Street; and
5. Mendoza Street, from Elvira Drive to Columbia Street,
all as hereinafter provided and as evidenced by the corrected assessment
roll attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A ".
SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend Ordinance No. 12773
as herein provided so as to correct and adjust the assessments levied
against the properties involved in the street improvement project creates
a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolu-
tion shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the
Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having
requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in

MOLINA AREA STREET IMPROVEMENTS
UNIT II PART "A"
Unit II Part "A' Molina Area Street Improvements shall include improvements
to the following streets:
1. Barrera Drive, from Bloomington Street to Horne Road;
2. Angela Drive, from Bloomington Street to Horne Road;
3. Elvira Drive, from Bloomington Street to Horne Road;
4. Lolita Street, from Elvira Drive to Columbia Street; and
5. Mendoza Street, from Elvira Street to Columbia Street.
These streets shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to
permit the laying of a standard curb and gutter section, 6" compacted sub —
grade, 8" compacted caliche base and 1" Type "D" Hot —Mix Asphaltic pavement,
for a street width of 28' back to back of curb. There will be 4' wide rein-
forced sidewalks and 6" reinforced driveways as shown on the construction
plans or where requested by the owner.
The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the latest
paving policy adopted by the City. Based on the lowest unit bid price submitted
the assessment rates are as follows:
6" Curb, Gutter and Pavement $6.29 p.l.f.
4" Curb, Gutter and Pavement 6.08 p.l.f.
Sidewalk 0.98 p.s.f.
Driveway 1.63 p.s.f.
All properties, one and two family use, churches and schools have been assessed
at the maximum rate established by the City Council as:
Curb, Gutter and Pavement $4.75 p.l.f.
Sidewalk 0.75 p.6.f.
