HomeMy WebLinkAbout13474 ORD - 11/10/1976jkh:11- 10 -76; 1st TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCES NO. 12678 AND NO. 12679 WHICH APPROPRIATED FUNDS FOR AND AWARDED THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS ON PROJECT NO. 220- 72 -1.3, WASHINGTON- CARVER AREA UNIT I STREET IMPROVEMENTS, PHASES A AND B, RESPEC- TIVELY, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JULY 2, 1975, BY CORRECTING THOSE PORTIONS OF THE ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FOR BOTH PHASES A AND B, SO AS TO REFLECT FUND APPORTIONMENT AND APPROPRI- ATION AS FOLLOWS: OF THE TOTAL APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE NO. 162 FEDERAL /STATE GRANTS FUND, ACTIVITY 4732, CODE 502, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT, GRANT NO. B- 75 -MC -48 -0502, FIRST YEAR PROGRAM, A TOTAL OF $603,056.69 IS APPROPRIATED FOR BOTH PHASES A AND B TO PROJECT NO. 220- 72 -1.3 IN LIEU OF $690,000, COLLECTIVELY APPROPRIATED TO THE PROJECT BY THE ABOVE ORDINANCES, AND APPROPRIATING $86,943.31 FROM THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND TO SUPPLEMENT PREVIOUS APPROPRIATIONS 'TO REFLECT TOTAL APPROPRIATION FROM THE STREET BOND FUND EQUAL TO $326,644.73, THEREBY REDUCING THE APPROPRIATION FROM THE FEDERAL /STATE GRANT FUND BY $86,943.31; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That Ordinances No. 12678 and No. 12679, which appropri- ated funds for and awarded the construction contracts on Project No. 220- 72 -1.3, Washington- Carver Area Unit I Street Improvements, Phases A and B, respectively, passed and approved by the City Council on July 2, 1975, be and the same are hereby amended by correcting those portions of the said ordinances pertaining to the appropriation of funds for both Phases A and B so as to reflect fund apportionment and appropriation as follows: of the total appropriations from the No. 162 Federal /State Grants Fund, Activity 4732, Code 502, Community Development Block Grant, Grant No. B- 75 -MC -48 -0502, First Year Program, a total of $603,056.69 is appropriated for both Phases A and B to Project No. 220- 72 -1.3 in lieu of $690,000, collectively appropriated to the project by the above ordinances, and appropriating $86,943.31 from the No. 220 Street Bond Fund to supplement previous appropriations to reflect total appropriation from the Street Bond Fund equal to $326,644.73, thereby reducing the appropriation from the Federal /State Grant Fund by $86,943.31. SECTION 2. The necessity to make the changes aforesaid at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordi- nance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction MICROFILMED 1-347 JUI4 ,3 0 1980 but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension• of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this thejk'- day of November, 1976.
