A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi desires
to assure the City of Mathis that Corpus Christi will sell the City of
Mathis untreated water at Lake Corpus Christi under substantially the same
conditions and terms as untreated water is sold to the City of Alice and
the San Patricio Municipal Water District; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi also desires
to assure the City of Mathis that the City of Corpus Christi will allow the
City of Mathis to construct treatment facilities on property owned by the
City of Corpus Christi at Lake Corpus Christi if such a site is determined
to be most advantageous to the parties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Corpus Christi hereby
assures the City of Mathis that:
(1) the City of Corpus Christi will sell to the City of Mathis
untreated water from Lake Corpus Christi under substantially the same
conditions as untreated water is sold to the City of Alice and the San
Patricio Municipal Water District; and
(2) the City of Corpus Christi will allow the City of Mathis to
construct treatment facilities on property owned by the City of Corpus
Christi at Lake Corpus Christi if such a site is determined to be most
advantageous to the parties.
SECTION 2. The necessity to give adequate assurances to the
City of Mathis in connection with the sale of untreated water to Mathis
creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and
the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having
requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this resolution be z'
passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in

full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
RESOLVED, this the day of November, 1976.

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING
ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT 13 INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
