AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13166, PASSED AND APPROVED
MAY 5, 1976, PERTAINING TO THE FOLLOWING STREET:'
STARLITE LANE (MH 152) FROM LEOPARD STREET TO r.
SUNNY DRIVE, PROJECT NO. MR035 (1),
BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO
CORRECT AND ADJUST THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST
THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, ALL AS FULLY HEREIN-
AFTER SET OUT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 13166, passed and approved by
the City Council on the 5th day of May, 1976, closing the hearing on street
improvements for a portion of Starlite Lane, in the City of Corpus Christi,
be amended by correcting and adjusting the assessments levied against
abutting property on the following street:
Starlite Lane (MH 152) from Leopard Street to Sunny
Drive, Project No. MR035 (1),
as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a
substantial copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit 'W', and made
a part hereof.
SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the assessment
roll as herein set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such
emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the
Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this

STARLITE LANE
This project includes the extension and construction of street improvements on
the following streets:
Starlite Lane (M.H. 152) from Leopard Street to Sunny Drive;
Project No. M R035 (1)
The improvements shall consist of excavation to a width and depth necessary
to provide for the construction of a roadway varying in width from 39' to 45'
including curb and gutter. The roadway section will be composed of 6" of
compacted lime stabilized subgrade, 6" of base material compacted and lime
treated, one course of underseal surface treatment and 2" of asphalt - concrete
riding surface. Other improvements shall include 4" thick reinforced concrete .
sidewalks and 6" thick reinforced concrete driveways where specified on the :}
construction plans or requested by the abutting property owners.
This project is built jointly by the City and the State Department of Highways
and Public Transportation. This project was bid together with improvements
to North Staples Street and Winnebago Street.
The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the City's paving
assessment policy based on the low bid submitted to the State Department of
Highways and Public Transportation on March 24, 1976. The assessment rates
for this project are as follows:
Curb, Gutter and Pavement (39' width) @ $10.31 p.l.f.
Sidewalk - @ $ .75 p.s.f.
Driveway @ $18.11 p.s.y-
Total Contract Price $303,579.25•
