AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13377, PASSED AND APPROVED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON SEPTEMBER 8, 1976, BY
AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO
CORRECT AND ADJUST THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST
ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS ON THE FOLLOWING STREET:
LEOPARD STREET - LOOP 407, FROM CARANCAHUA STREET
TO WEST OF PALM DRIVE (FEDERAL AID PROJECT CONTROL
74.9)
AS HEREINAFTER PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 13377, passed and approved by
the City Council on the 8th day of September, 1976, closing the hearing
on street improvements for a portion of Leopard Street, in the City of
Corpus Christi, be amended by correcting and adjusting the assessments
levied against abutting property on the following street:
Leopard Street - Loop 407, from Carancahua Street to
west of Palm Drive (Federal Aid Project Control 74.9)
as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll,
a substantial copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A ", and
made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the assessment
roll as herein set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance
or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and
necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule
and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the lq day
of January, 1977.

This project consists of asphaltic concrete level -up and overlay of
the street within the above limits and intersection improvements
which include curbs, gutters and driveways from Port Avenue to 300'
eastward, all in accordance with plans prepared by the State Depart-
ment of Highways and Public Transportation.
The assessment rates for the intersection improvements has been cal-
culated on the basis of low bid price and the paving assessment
policy of the City. These prices are calculated as follows:
Curb, Gutter $ 3.99 p.l.f.
Driveway $19.70 p.s.y.
The low bid was submitted by Heldenfels Brothers for:
Total Contract Price $222,781.85
State Portion 154,723.41
City Portion 68,058.44
Final Assessments 3.867.91
Net Citv Cost $ 64.190.53
