HomeMy WebLinkAbout13594 ORD - 01/26/1977• JKH'.hb:1/25/77 AN ORDINANCE .It . • APPROPRIATING $9,329.72 OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -72 -2, LEOPARD STREET FROM CARANCAHUA TO WEST OF PALM DRIVE, TO COVER CONSTRUCTION COST OVERRUNS INCURRED ON THE PROJECT BY THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the enm of $9,329.72 out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund, applicable to Project No. 220 -72 -2, Leopard Street from Carancahua to west of Palm Drive, to cover construction cost overruns incurred on the project by the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation. SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate the sums above described at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the% day of January, 1977.
