HomeMy WebLinkAbout13604 ORD - 02/02/1977• JXH:bb:2 /1/,77 • AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1976 -77 BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING $26,500 FROM THE GENERAL FOND RESERVE AS A CONTRIBUTION TO THE TRANSIT FUND TO BE APPLIED TO OPERATIONAL EXPENSES FOR THE 1975 -76 FISCAL YEAR, SUCH CONTRIBUTION TO BE CLASSIFIED AS AN ADDITIONAL LOCAL SHARE IN SUPPORT OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE URBAN MASS TRANSPOR- TATION ADMINISTRATION IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $375,976; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the 1976 -77 Budget for the City of Corpus Christi be and the same is hereby amended by appropriating $26,500 from the General Fund Reserve as a contribution to the Transit Fund to be applied to operational expenses for the 1975 -76 fiscal year, such contribution to be classified as an additional local share in support of a grant application to the Urban Mass Transportation Administration in the estimated amount of $375,976. SECTION 2. The necessity to amend the City of Corpus Christi Budget, as hereinabove set forth, at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the ltd day of �- , 1977.
