DRIVE NEAR SKIPPER LANE, AND AGNES STREET (HIGHWAY 44) & AIRPORT ENTRANCE, FROM SIGNAL ENGINEERING COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,493.50 AND EAGLE SIGNAL COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,400, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -72 -14.3; AND DECLARING AN EMER- GENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of Street Bond Fund No. 220 $12,893.50 for the purchase of traffic signal equipment for . traffic control improvements at Six Points, Everhart & Bonner, N.A.S. Drive near Skipper Lane, and Agnes Street (Highway 44) & Airport entrance, from the following firms: Signal Engineering Company in the amount of $9,493.50, and Eagle Signal Company in the amount of $3,400; all as more fully described in the bid specifications on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bids of Signal Engineering Company and Eagle Signal Company opened on the 8th day of February, 1977, applicable to Project No. 220 -72 -14.3. SECTION 2. That the necessity to appropriate the funds necessary to purchase the traffic signal equipment in accordance with the most advan- tageous bids received on this equipment creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and MICROFILMED U01 "V10 13618 after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 16 4t day of February, 1977.
