HomeMy WebLinkAbout13641 ORD - 02/23/1977J103:hb:7/23/77 • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE, FOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT OF THE COASTAL BEND MANPOWER CONSORTIUM, ALL CETA AGREEMENTS AND OTHER RELATED DOCUMENTS THAT HAVE RECEIVED APPROVAL FROM THE MANPOWER EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE; AND DECLARING_ AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby given authorization to execute, for the City of Corpus Christi, as the adminis- trative unit of the Coastal Bend Manpower Consortium, all CETA agreements and other related documents that have received approval from the Manpower Executive Committee. SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize execution by the City Manager of the said nonfinancial agreements and other related documents in order to expedite said agreements between the City and the State or other pertinent agencies creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 0�3A day of February, 1977.
