HomeMy WebLinkAbout13660 ORD - 03/02/19779, JKH:bb:2/28/77 a • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH HELDENFELS BROTHERS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE FLOUR BLUFF SOUTH END SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS; APPROPRIATING $113,727.29 OUT OF THE NO. 250 SANI- TARY SEWER BOND FUND, OF WHICH $106,000 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $7,727.29 IS FOR ENGINEERING, INCIDENTAL, AND RELATED EXPENSES, ALL APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 250 -72 -6; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Heldenfels Brothers, for construction of the Flour Bluff South End Sanitary Sewer improvements, all as more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Heldenfels Brothers, opened on February 23, 1977, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $113,727.29 out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund, of which $106,000 is for the construction contract and $7,727.29 is for engineering, incidental and related expenses, all applicable to Project No. 250 -72 -6. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to provide the sums hereinabove set forth in order that construction of the Flour Bluff South End Sanitary Sewer Improvements may be commenced at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and affect from and of er its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the aid day of l , 1977.
