HomeMy WebLinkAbout13718 ORD - 05/04/1977• JKH:vp:5 /3/77:1st TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13377, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON SEPTEMBER 8, 1976, BY AMENDING SECTION III OF SAID ORDINANCE, SO AS TO CORRECT AND ADJUST THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS: AIRLINE ROAD (MH 143) FROM PADRE ISLAND DRIVE TO WILLIAMS DRIVE AND THE PART OF WILLIAMS DRIVE APPROXI- MATELY 200' EAST AND WEST OF AIRLINE ROAD, AS HEREWITH PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 13377, passed and approved by the City Council on September 8, 1976, be amended by amending Section III of said Ordinance, so as to correct and adjust the assessments levied against the abutting property owners on the following streets: Airline Road (MH 143) from Padre Island Drive to Williams Drive and the part of Williams Drive approxi- mately 200' East and West of Airline Road, as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A ", and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the assessment roll as herein set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of May, 1977. TO WILLIA14S DR. and a part of Williams Dr. approx. 200' east and west of Airline Rd. • This project consists of improvements to the above road within the limits described. The road shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the construction of a pavement section consisting of 6" compacted lime stabilized sub -base, 9" flex base, 1 3/4" asphalt stabilized base and 1 1/4" hot mix asphaltic concrete surface to form a pavement width varying from 62' to 73' measured from back of curbs, concrete sidewalks and driveways where specified or requested by he owners, and in accordance to State Department of Highways and Public Transportation Plans. The assessment rates for this project have beet calculated in accordance with the assessment policy by using the unit prices obtained by the low bid.
