AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937,
APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ,
OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED
FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF
TIM CLOWER BY
AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON
A PORTION OF LOTS 1, 2, 10 and 11 LYLE
SUBDIVISION ,
SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY,
TEXAS, FROM "R -1B" ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT
TO "B-111 NEIGHBORHOOD U NES
D Si PR CT ; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS
OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City
Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of
Tim Clower
zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; and
for amendment to the
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before
the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper
notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Monday ,
May 23, 1977 at Special Council Meeting of the City
Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi;
and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was
decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth
amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and
the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day °of August, 1937, appearing of
record in Volume 9, Pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution
Records, as amended from time to time,-and in particular as amended by
Ordinance No. 6106, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by
making the change hereinafter set out.

SECTION 2_ That the Zoning on the following described
portion of Lots 1, 2, 10 and 11, Lyle Subdivision, situated
in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be and
the same is hereby changed from "R -1B" One - Family Dwelling
District to "B -1" Neighborhood Business District, said portion
being more particularly described as follows:
Being a Tract or parcel containing 6.41 acres of land
out of Lots 13 2, 10 and 11 of a subdivision of Lots
1 and 2, Section "E ", Paisley Subdivision of the
Hoffman Tract, a map of which is recorded in Volume 1,
Page 58, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas:
BEGINNING at a point on the Northwest right -of -way
line of Greenwood Drive for the East corner of this
survey, from which point a drill hole set in a 4.0
foot wide concrete walk for the point of intersection
of said Northwest right -of -way line of Greenwood Drive
with the Southwest right-of-way line of Horne Road
bears North 28 019215" East, 500.00 feet;
THENCE with said Northwest right -of -way line of
Greenwood Drive, South 28 019115" West, parallel
to the centerline thereof and 40.00 feet distant
therefrom, measured at right angles thereto, at
120.00 feet pass the common boundary line of said
Lots 1 and 11, in all a distance of 450.00 feet to
a 5/8 inch iron rod set for the South corner of
this survey;
THENCE North 61 040'45" West, at 290.00 feet pass
the common boundary line of Lots 10 and 11, in all
a distance of 620.00 feet to a 5/8 inch iron rod
set on the common boundary line of Lots 9 and 10
for the West corner of this survey;
THENCE North 28 119'15" East, along the common
boundary line of said Lots 9 and 10, at 329.50 feet
pass a fence corner post found on line and continu-
ing with a fence line, at 330.00 feet pass the common
corner of Lots 2, 3, 9, and 10, and continuing North
28 °19'15" East, with the common boundary line of said
Lots 2 and 3, in all a distance of 450.00 feet to a
point for the North corner of this survey;
THENCE South 61 °40'45" East, at 330.00 feet pass the
common boundary line of said Lots 1 and 2, in all a
distance of 620.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING and
containing 6.41 acres of land.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as
amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full
force and effect.

SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That the necessity of immediately making aforesaid
change for the purpose of maintaining at all times a comprehensive zoning
ordinance for the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and an
imperative puiblic necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that
such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension
of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the �-W

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance,
a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the
Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City
Council.
