AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
1976 REVISION, BY ADDING TO ARTICLE II, SOLID WASTE PERMITS,
OF CHAPTER 21, GARBAGE, TRASH AND OTHER EFUSE, EW
SECTION, TO BE - 0 PROVIDE
FOR IDENTIFICATION OF VEHICLES AND CONTAINERS BY DISPLAY
OF NAME OF THE FIRM; PROVIDING FOR SAVINGS; AND PROVIDING
FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi,
1976 Revision, be and the same is hereby amended by adding to Chapter 21,
GARBAGE, TRASH AND OTHER REFUSE, Article II, SOLID WASTE PERMITS, a new
section, to be designated Section 21 -51A, to hereafter read as follows:
"Section 21 -51A. Display of Name on Vehicles and Containers
After September 1, 1977, each vehicle used pursuant to a solid
waste permit, and each container provided by solid waste permit holders
to customers, shall be equipped with the name of the solid waste permit
holder painted on or attached to the vehicle or container at a conspicuous
location. Said identification shall be either in letters not less than
2 1/2" in height or in an easily readable sign not less than 10" in height
and 12" in width.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid
or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction
it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, after final passage, which pub-
lication shall contain the caption stating in substance the purpose of the
ordinance.
