HomeMy WebLinkAbout13754 ORD - 05/25/1977• JXH:hb:5/24/77 I AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $24,550 OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FOND, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -72 -4, COOPER'S ALLEY - MESQDITE TO TANCAHUA, TO COVER INCREASED CONSTRUCTION COSTS RESULTING FROM THE BID AWARD BY THE STATE DEPART- MENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION; AND DE- CLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $24,550 out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund, applicable to Project No. 220 -72 -4, Cooper's Alley - Mesquite to Tancahua, to cover increased construction costs resulting from the bid award by the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation. SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate the sums hersinabove described at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of May, 1977.
