AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ARTICLE III, ELECTRICAL, DIVISION 1, LICENSING,
OF THE CODE OF ORDINAN SCI ' —OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
1976 REVISION, BY AMENDING SECTION 13 -64, EXAMINATIONS- -
SCHEDULING; GRADING, SUBSECTION (b), PARAG PH 4 , SO
SA f0 PROVIDER— RECIPROCAL ELECTRICIANS LICENSES, AS
MORE FULLY SET FORTH HEREINAFTER; PROVIDING FOR SEVER -
ABILITY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi,
1976 Revision, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Article III,
ELECTRICAL, Division 1, LICENSING, Section 13 -64, Examinations -- Scheduling;
Grading, Subsection (b), paragraph (4), said paragraph (4) to hereafter read
as follows:
"(4) Where the licensing ordinance of another city has
been examined and the licensing procedure approved
by the board under subparagraph (1) above, the
building official or his assistant may issue to the
applicant an electrical license, provided such
city permits electricians from Corpus Christi to
obtain electrician's licenses under procedures
similar to the above; and further provided that the
electrician examinations of those cities are reviewed
by the Board or the Building Official to determine
if said examinations are comparable to City of Corpus
Christi examinations."
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase. word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid
or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction
it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word,
or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of this
ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
