AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, BY AMENDING SECTION 53 -254,
SCHEDULE V. INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN
ZONES, BY DELETING THE PRESENT PROVISION FOR OLD
BROWNSVILLE ROAD AND AIRPORT ROAD (FM) 665), FROM,
A POINT 760 FEET SOUTHWEST OF PADRE ISLAND DRIVE TO
A POINT 670 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF
MORGAN AVENUE AND AIRPORT ROAD, AND IN LIEU THEREOF
DECREASING THE SPEED LIMITS FROM 50 MPH TO 45 MPH,
AT ALL TIMES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING
FOR REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of*Corpus Christi,
1976 Revision, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 53 -254,
Schedule V Increase of State Speed Limit in Certain Zones, by deleting
the following:
NAME OF STREET SPEED LIMIT EFFECTIVE
TIMES
Old Brownsville Road and Airport Rd.
FM 665
From a point 760 feet southwest
of Padre Island Drive to a point
670 feet southwest of the inter-
section of Morgan Avenue and
Airport Road, 50 m.p.h. At all times
and in lieu thereof, adding the following provisions:

SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith shall be and are hereby repealed to the extent of conflict
herewith.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid
or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction

it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite
intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect
for its purpose.
SECTION 4. Publication shall be made in the official publication
of the City of Corpus Christi one time which publication shall contain the
caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
